Selection Features

The need to install a fire barrier is prescribed in the design of the structure. Most often, architects prescribe a certain product of an already well-known brand with the necessary fire resistance. Designers select a manufacturer of fire-fighting gates and determine the type of fire-resistant products needed based on standard sizes and put these dimensions into the project, but the contractor can choose another type of gate with the same fire resistance. Let's list the main parameters of fire-resistant gates of different designs:

Sectional

• reliable design without springs, which often fail in garage doors;
• ceiling space is required for the canvas and structure;
• the opportunity to make a wicket;
• possibility of painting by RAL color;
• different mounting options.

Rolled gates on stone wool

• simple design and high reliability;
• possibility of painting by RAL color;
• the high weight of the canvas due to the use of stone wool;
• it is impossible to do with the gate.

Roll-up gates on fire-resistant fabric

• the complex design of the canvas is a combination of steel and fire-resistant fabric;
• possibility of painting by RAL color;
• light weight of the canvas and a possible width of up to 6 meters;
• small size of the lintel for installation;
• it is impossible to do with the gate.

Rolling

• back a variety of design solutions for covering the opening;
• block the opening in the absence of electricity, no UPS is required for the drive;
• minimum lintel (250 mm);
• possibility of painting by RAL color;
• the ability to make several gates and a window for a hydrant.

Swing

• doors are a common and inexpensive design;

Dimensions of fire-resistant gates

Unlike swing gates, doors that are made for standard openings, roll-up, roll-down and sectional gate systems can be made for any openings up to 10 meters wide. There are also options for the necessary ceiling lintel. It should be from 250 to 850 mm.

If your dimensions are larger than the maximum, then individual consideration and manufacture according to your dimensions is possible.

Price

If you choose the type of fire-fighting gate, then you need to know the cost of the canvas and components. For example, a canvas of fire-fighting roller blinds on fabric is more expensive than a gate on cotton wool, but here you can save on the engine, since their weight is much less. Depending on the size, the price may vary both in favor of one design and in favor of another.
The most inexpensive option for fire-fighting gates is swing and sliding systems, but swing gates have size limitations and it is quite difficult and costly to make them more than 3 meters wide, since the hinges and frame will not withstand the heavy weight of the canvas.
Approximately comparable in cost to swing - sliding and sliding types of gates. Due to the possibility to make the gate 1-2-3 casement and the size up to 10 meters wide - such fire-resistant structures will be the best option in terms of quality, reliability and cost.
Roll-up and sectional fire doors are more expensive than sliding ones due to a more complex design, the presence of many moving elements and an axial European engine.

Licenses and installation

All fire-fighting gates of various fire resistance are tested and receive certificates of conformity according to the norms and laws of the Russian Federation. To install such gates, it is not enough to find a company dealing with gates, there must be a license from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to work with fire-fighting equipment and membership in a self-regulating organization of the SRO.
